This is an idea I have had for some time, just didn’t know how to approach it. My original idea was to make it with watercolour pencils, in the colours grey, black and red with a less simple look. But I wasn’t sure so I ended up doing it with my black ball pen instead. I feel quite happy with the outcome. Been a while since I did ball pen drawings, I forgot how much I like doing it. I am not sure if I will do my original idea someday, if I do it will be in some time I think and with a different angle. I wanted the paper to be longer and slimmer to begin with but didn’t have more of my usual paper, sadly.
As for the pose.. I had my friend take some pictures of me for the drawing, me sitting in a corner holding a white board. I worked hard for it not to look like me in particular as it wasn't my intention for it to symbolise me or my feelings. More like in general.
I just think that a lot of people get mistreated in relationships, for a lot of reasons. Of course there is beautiful love as well, luckily, but sadly a lot of people are violent to each other, verbally and physically. I’d wish people were nicer to each other and realised the scars they put on one another.
