This was a little test I did last weekend. I am going to do my first mermaid drawing and I wanted to at least have tried drawing the water and fish to see how well I would do. Angelfish is one of my favorite fish, they have something elegant about them. It was fun to do this. This is a photo of the drawing and it doesn't show the sparkly parts very well but the scan was even worse. In December I got a pretty girl from Denmark, Helene, to do a couple of photos for me for the mermaid girl. I am really exited to get started, she's a sweet girl and I really do look forward mixing it all together to hopefully a great drawing (:
Last weekend we went out to buy some new pastels, I didn't have any blues in this nuance. I've been watching a lot of programs with fish and water and studied it's colors and movement. I have come to love the ocean so much the past year, not really sure where it comes from as I used to fear water when I was younger.
If you want to see my new pastels you can see them at my blog here: [link] Mmmm pastels *drooling like Homer Simpson* Is there anything better
Ooooh, pretty angelfish! I have one at home, but its colouring is a little different. I think the fins look a little fuzzy, but apart from that it's great. Can't wait to see the mermaid drawing
Aww this is beautiful Zinday. I love how you've done the Angel fish's fins; they look so real and natural. Lovely job on the details and the shading. The colours are really lovely too. I can't wait to see the mermaid; I bet it'll be beautiful.
