This photo is from autumn 2006. I was playing with shadows and contrast. I like the expression and how the light falls in this one. It's also a little different from my usual self portraits.

The title has a special meaning. Around the time I took the photo I was listening a lot to Darker by Diary of Dreams. The song reminds me of that time of my life and when I look at this photo and other photos from the same day it's the first thing that comes to mind. It's weird how a song can affect you. In a way it also symbolises how I feel my life, my drawings and me as a person went that year - Darker.

It's taken with my digital Olympus D-580 camera. Afterwards my friend Brian has been playing with it in Photoshop.

Wow. What a piercing stare... I like it! Music has some effect on me too. But sometimes I represent my feelings with music of my own. I like making stuff to listen to as I wait for the bus, go on trips, and fall asleep to. It is like using sound as a canvas. Music is a strange thing; using harmonies and tone to convey feelings and thoughts to others. So wonderous.
