Artist's Comments

After creating my first Hayden drawing with graphite pencils I decided I wanted to try her in charcoal too, and with a happier mood.

I feel happy with how it turned out. It's done after a close-up of her face. I added more of the hair, forehead and neck as the reference was very narrow but I loved her expression and the fact she is not looking into the camera.

Made with soft charcoal.

Charcoal is a very different medium to use from what I've heard! I've never used it before. But this looks fantastic! I love the way you shaded her hair. :wow:

Zindy, all of your drawings are beautiful, but this one is especially striking. :aww: I love the contrast of the lights and darks...and her eyes are just so clear and her expression is lovely.
