Artist's Comments
This drawing I started a month ago. It's made on some really smooth paper which made it really hard for the coal to stick. It made it hard to make really dark areas, I had to build quite some layers.
It's based on a photo of the lovely Robin, again: [link] As for the meaning, I wished for it to be something like infatuated with darkness/the unknown. I never really liked crows, I find them somewhat scary and they represent something a bit evil to me. I didn't manage to make the crow too scary, more like a baby crow (which is my first bird drawing). Still I feel it fits the idea - the beauty/goodness falling in love with darkness/evil.
