I wanted to try a new skin type, with more warm glow and darkness. I saw a picture in a magazine of a girl named Jackie Navarro and I found her very pretty and cute. I used her as model for my girl though it doesn't have her exact features but I really liked the warmth of the picture and wanted to portray that.
Also, I want to keep in the summer spirit, though it's been raining here the past days. Happy summer to you all  I did the drawing over a week, it's not one I just did in a day, it actually took quite some time. I know there's a little something with the eyes being slightly off, though I tried to fix it I couldn't completely. I would need to change the length of the right eye which would place the eye incorrectly, in the end I decided to leave it as it is. The flower is one I added. A while back I took some photos at the cemetery where they had these big blue flowers looking rather special. Made with soft pastels and charcoal. 30x40cm | 12x16"  Prints available here: [link] |

cool picture anyway, i always find it hard to draw dark skinned people in graphite drawings is it similar in coloured pieces? or just a case of getting used to new colour combinations.
