This is what I did saturday. I almost drew all day long. I've been wanting to do a coloured version of my Broken Doll from 2006: [link]

I really like this 'broken' theme. I tried to make her skin colour fairly warm this time. I wanted the red to really stand out, I worked in many layers to get it to look bold.

I know the eyes are huge, which is very much meant to be, I want them to really stand out and be the first thing you look at it. Also, the perspective is suppose to be you looking at her a little from above which makes her eyes bigger and mouth smaller.

With all the pastel drawings I have done lately I have noticed how colour appear different depending on the paper type, which is actually really interesting I think. I have yet to find what I like better.
My next pastel drawing will have a serene theme.

I love it,

Great things about it:

:bulletpurple: The eyes really do stand out and draw you into the drawing.
:bulletpurple: The proportion thing really works, the eyes don't look stupidly big.
:bulletpurple: She almost looks angry.
:bulletpurple: The hair contrasts with the angry theme. I don't know why people relate blonde to innocence and fragility, but they do.
