This has been my project the past weeks. I feel rather happy with it, both the subject and the way it turned out. I chose to do it in some neutral and weak colours. I wanted the colours to be a bit symbolic, in the way that when you are sad you tend to not see the colours in yourself and your surroundings.
The sky I wanted a bit dark and gloomy, as if it's beginning to get windy and soon the rain will start. There is so many awful things happening in the area at the moment, seems like the world has gone mad. People are shot and attached for no reason. It makes me scared and it makes me sad. While drawing this I thought about these issues a lot and I pictured how the angels would look down on humanity and cry for us, because of the way we behave and treat each other. Not to mention the way we treat and misuse our beautiful world and nature. I used this pretty girl as my model: [link] whom I will be using in a few more drawings. Made with Faber Castell Polychromes and Supracolour colour pencils on light grainy cartridge paper. 17x12"(42x30cm) Prints available here: [link] |

Time is a companion that goes with us on a journey. It reminds us to cherish each moment, because it will never come again. What we leave behind is not as important as how we have lived. -Jean-Luc Picard

A real friend can look at you when you have the biggest smile on your face and ask 'whats wrong?'
If You really love something,
it's better to set it free.
When it comes back to You
it'll be Yours forever.

~We may writhe in agony from pain,
as long as we're alive, tomorrow will come,
or laugh out loud when we find happiness,
we become stronger and keep on living,
we were born to live~
(from the manga Kodocha, written by Obana Miho)
