I just finished my latest work, for an art friend, Denise: [link]
. Some of you might have followed the long process at my forum.
I asked Denise to do a couple of photos for the pose last Autumn and one was perfect for adding a bunch of butterflies and the butterfly key. I wish you could see the shine of the key but it doesn't show as much on the scan. It's been one of my more time consuming drawings, I started it around Christmas and put quite some hours into it. It was almost like I couldn't finish it because I felt there were always something to add or make better.
I decided to try some more realistic butterflies this time to fit the realism of her. While the butterfly key is made up I wish it was real as I would love to own one. I am going to use the concept for a darker drawing later this year but I am working on something different these days, in the lines of my older work.
Made with a soft charcoal.
