I know this is an art forum but I am hoping there are some gamers among my watchers who can help me out

Thing is - I have a Wii and recently I bought The Legend of Zelda Collectors Edition including 4 of the older games, originally for the GameCube. As far as I know the GameCube games are supposed to be able to play on the Wii too. I also downloaded the very first Zelda game for the NES some time back and I could easily play the game with my Wii controller.
When I put in the disc of the GC Zelda game I can't do anything with my Wii controller. I have been told from friends you can play the GC games with your Wii controller but nothing happens when I try to. The game does show on my screen but my controller doesn't react.
My question is, do any of you have the same problem. I have seen there are slots to the GC controller at the top and I am wondering if I really need a controller for the GC in order to play the GC games? If that is the case is there a special controller I need to buy or just any of the versions you can buy for the GC? I have seen there are quite a few versions. Which one do you recommend for the Wii?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated

I also have another problem. Since I got my Wii and downloaded some of the older NES games from the store my screen seem to be jumping constantly, just a little bit but enough to not make you play the games for longer periods. It only happens with the some of the download games which are very weird. A friend of mine has downloaded some of the same games and they all stand still as when you play normally. I downloaded the Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles, Super Mario 2+3 and The legend of Zelda and the same problems seem to be present with all of them. The only game not doing this is Bomberman 93. If anyone knows what could be wrong I would be ever so grateful for some advice.
Well I have to use the gamecube controller, but I don't have the wii classic controller(don't even know what that is, just saw a comment about it) so I don't know if it would work, I have wiimotes.(spelling?) Gamecube controllers shouldn't cost very much, and you can probably get them pretty much anywhere, especially online. any local GameStop store would have them. (Hint, don't get the wireless ones, they suck and tend to break easily and/or not work after a little while.)
I don't know about your second problem there, so I can't really give you any advice.

Hope this helped!
